Hello Friends!
It’s been a while! But there has been a lot going on, am I right?? 2020 certainly hasn’t been what we thought it would be but I’m trying to focus on the good and enjoy the happy moments we have. My baby sister was supposed to be getting married next month in California but due to COVID-19 she not only had to change her wedding date but then move the location. My heart goes out to all the brides right now, especially her. This is supposed to be a happy, exciting time in their lives, and it’s all been turned upside down. With that being said, I made it my mission to throw her a very sweet, beautiful, socially distanced bridal shower with her nearest and dearest. The shower was at a friend’s home in California (where we grew up) and we moved the shower outdoors. We followed California guidelines, provided masks and sanitizer, and only seated her immediate family together. Other guests mingled at cocktail rounds within their household or quarantine group. So even though we are in unprecedented times, celebrations can still be done! You can still celebrate safely. You just need to get a little creative and be a little flexible. So, let’s get to this gorgeous day and how we managed to pull it off!
Guests entered through the side gate and were greeted with a sanitizer station (masks and hand sanitizer!) and made their way to the backyard. It was a gorgeous day in California (thank goodness!).
The Bride-to-be loves to cook so family and friends brought special recipes for the bride and groom’s recipe collection. We also had a cooking themed favor, personalized wooden spoons!
We ate Brunch with the Bride! All the food was homemade (thanks to our other two hostesses!) and let me tell you, it was the best brunch menu ever! Everyone raved about the food and I’m happy to share recipes if you are interested. We had two of the hostesses serve all the food to the guests (with masks and gloves) to avoid too many people touching food/servingware. etc. We also hired a bartender to serve all the drinks for that exact same reason!
My favorite part was the “Future Mrs. Lomker” backdrop. It was a perfect spot for the bride to capture sweet moments with family and friends!
We ended the shower with mini cupcakes and a cute “who knows the bride best?” game! Her oldest friend won and was treated with a bottle of bubbly!
It was a happy day for our beautiful future bride to be surrounded by her close family and friends! And we only made a few simple changes to make sure our guests stayed safe and healthy. Up next, the bachelorette party this weekend and then THE WEDDING!
